What makes you nervous?
There are some things and situations that make me nervous. The main one is other people around me. The word “friend” is the kind of thing where unknowns dwell. People are quick to say they are friends until a crisis happens. It doesn’t even need to be a big crisis either, and being thrown under the bus is no friend. I believe there are levels of friendship each level affords more rights. An acquaintance is not a friend but is a prospect to become one. As an acquaintance, there are limits to how close or personal that level gets. This level has few privileges with me and likewise. I wouldn’t ask an acquaintance to watch my house while I was away or my kids. They are acquaintances. The next level is friendship. They get a few more rights. I might ask this level to wait at my house for a few minutes while I was gone. Gotta be cautious with friendship. The next level is close friend. A close friend is not developed easily. It may take several years to develop this level. Trust has bloomed , usually, a close friend has survived a few arguments. This person is on the way to becoming the last level. The best friend or even brother or sister is the closest and rarest of the friend levels. Some people never find this kind of friendship. Some people are incapable of being or having a best friend. When found this person should be cherished. Not in a weird way but cherished cause of its value.
People make me nervous. Especially those who claim to “have your back” or are so quick to call you a friend. Those that are in need all the time, these make me nervous.
